A network of libraries collaborating online to facilitate the ordering of copies of journal articles in their collections
The National Network of Scientific and Technological Libraries (EDETB) is a network of libraries that collaborate online so that copies of journals or journal articles in their collections can be made. The operation of EDETB is based on the Interlibrary System developed by EKT and on the utilisation of the online database of the National Union Catalogue of Scientific Journals of the Greek scientific and technological libraries. To date, there are 146 member libraries from all over the country and, since 2000, 257243 article orders have been made.
Any library in the EDETB can use the application to locate a specific journal in the collections of the other libraries in the network. It can then order online a copy of an article from that library which can be tracked by library users or suppliers.
Why use the service?
The EDETB is a unique library network in Greece, covering and benefiting from all types of libraries (academic, research institutions, hospitals, etc). Participation in the network means the capabilities of your library are maximised enabling the better exploitation of your journal collections, those of other Greek libraries and national collections of scientific journals.
